SALKANTAY - MACHU PICCHU 5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS

The Salkantay (6.372 m.), is considered a sacred mountain since Inca times, so the roads surrounding it are Incas. On this walk will appreciate its imposing walls near glaciers, hike begins in a nice town called Mollepata, as it ascends the snow are appearing at the bottom of the valley, is the first to appear and then the impressive Huamantay snow Salkantay, completed the walk across the mountains in a tropical valley of the Vilcanota river near Machu Picchu.

DAY 1: CUSCO / MOLLEPATA / SORAYPAMPA
Pick up from the hotel (5:00 a.m.) to start our journey to the Apurimac River valley, the road is paved until Limatambo, from there the road is traveled trail in which an hour after arriving at Mollepata, from this point we begin our trek for 5 hours toward the White River Valley comes from the melting of Mount Salkantay and Humantay, we camped at a place called Soraypampa.

DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA / CHAULLAY
This day Humantay ascend the pass through large zig zag and a walk of 45 minutes, from here you can see the valley of Santa Teresa, the tops of mountains and lakes, then proceed Challhuay descend to where we camp.

DAY 3: CHAULLAY / SANTA TERESA
Following the walk we will arrive to Santa Teresa, a small town located on the tropical shores of the Vilcanota River, this town was hit by a huge slide from the Salkantay which resulted in the destruction of the railway that united with bamba Keel Cusco, spend the night in the village of Santa Teresa (camping or basic lodging), in the vicinity of the village are fields of fruits such as oranges, bananas and other species.

DAY 4: SANTA TERESA / AAGUAS CALIENTES
This day we walk through the valley of the Vilcanota River to wards Machu Picchu Hydroelectric, by the old railway basket lasts about 4 hours, where we take our local train that leaves at 4 pm on cusco leads to thetown Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu, then those in a two star hotel which is very nice and clean, in the evening visit the thermal baths.

DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO
In the morning we started to visit the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, for which we will travel by bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu the same after the entry starts the guided tour lasts about 2 hours, then passengers can stay on your own another two hours in the sanctuary, after the visit we return to AguasCaliente. In the afternoon we proceed to return to the city of Cusco to board the train station in Aguas Calientes. In cusco awaits a bus that will lead you to your hotel.
